Cycle the Thames Valley from the pretty suburbs of London to the famous university city of Oxford. The Thames Valley provides some of the most picturesque landscapes in England, not to mention beautiful cities, market towns and villages. Enjoy the contrasting landscapes on this easy-going ride, starting on London's quiet riverside paths to reach the rural countryside lanes and quaint villages of the Chilterns. This cycle route takes you along the Thames River, passing the iconic landmarks of Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth's favourite London residence, and Hampton Court Palace, the home of Henry VIII, both of which you can visit. Continue to the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Take a pause here and enjoy a circular ride through the rolling countryside to the historic market town of Henley-on-Thames, renowned for its annual Royal Regatta, before continuing to Oxford.
